Thanks for this tip! i've been frustrated by what felt like really inconsistent performance of the seats. Some days I feel the cool coming through, other days it's nothing. I'm looking forward to trying out pushing more cold air toward the floor.I just picked up a '10 LX and this was one of my first complaints coming from a Ford F150 where the butt cooling was much more effective. I talked with the local dealer and they stressed they are 'ventilated' vs fully cooled- meaning that there needs to be cold air below the fans. They recommended pushing more cold air toward the feet/floor and that that would increase/improve the effect.
Has anyone figured out an upgraded fan for this yet? I'm struggling to get stats for the existing fan so that I can research replacements. Hell, I would be open to using 2 fans (one for each duct), if it gave me more airflow.
3. SYSTEM OPERATION
This system operates the seat climate control blower located underneath the seat to provide airflow to the seat cushion and seatback. Airflow is warmed or cooled by the Peltier element in the seat climate control controller. The air that flows to the seat surface is distributed by passing through grooves that are provided on the seat pad surface.
The air is then dissipated throughout the seat surface through slab urethane foam and is discharged through the seat cover.
Same here. 2010. Can't feel s*** from the ventilation seatsFWIW I have a 2010 LX and honestly can't tell that any ventilation is going on, perforated leather is nice so you don't stick to it with shorts on but other than that not sure its worth it.

Very interesting, I found one for half the price and taking a flyer on it.Bringing this post up from the past, but I came across this randomly today and I'm curious if those who've dug into the seats would think this might work in our 200 series?

Here's another one for the GX460 on Etsy, shows how it might work.Bringing this post up from the past, but I came across this randomly today and I'm curious if those who've dug into the seats would think this might work in our 200 series?
The way it's setup it's way too small. I believe the cover is divided to direct air in different areas, but I think it's just one duct underneath there. To install I believe you would take off the cover and replace it with the unit. I could probably find a way to make it work/fit, but I think I'd look for one that's a better size first.Just a thought, if you got it for a decent price, what do you think about trimming the sides like below? Is there room underneath the existing vent to slip it into place? I envision doing this, and blocking off the remaining air vent area, possibly drill/rivet it into place to keep it there. Or use a heat gun to soften the portion above the cut section and fold it over underneath to enable it to lock on without rivets?
Is the direction of the air flow with this in place positioned well enough to align with the seat fan?
