Till now I was travelling on 33" MT Tyres through trips like a transafrica and south america, that is 285 / 70 R 17

For my next plan, to drive the Transsibiria / Silkroad this may be not enogh, if I watch these Video of the Bam Road and Road of Bones.

Is it possible to add 34" Tyres LT285/75R17 on a AHC Spec verhicle (mostly sold as LX570 all over the world without other changes?

Thanks for help!

Simple answer to your question, yes, absolutely a LT285/75R17 would fit. I'd recommend offsets of ~35 to 50mm. If using stock wheels, .75" or 1" spacers can work well to correct the suspension geometry for larger tires.

As your international LC is fitted with AHC, fitment should be more similar to the USDM LXs that also use AHC.

You can fit 35s if you'd like without lifts. Though that gets into more impacts like gearing and brakes which ideally should be addressed. But as you have a diesel, perhaps not? A large 34 is really the sweet spot without making it more complicated than necessary.

Check out the links in my sig for more info on fitting even larger tires.

Long Way Round - DVD Netflix - https://dvd.netflix.com/Movie/Long-Way-Round/70288650. The Road of Bones shows up on disc 3, iirc.

Goodyear MTR which I think is globally available is sold in 275/80r17. This is a great size to fit with a 40mm to 35mm effective offset. One potential issue with 285/75r17 and 275/80r17 is there may be limited availability to purchase a replacement tire in a remote locale. A more standard size, like the 285/70r17 is more likely to be available if you need a full tire replacement.

That`s a very good point! The hard part of a trip is over, if you did use your last spare! We did carry a tube, for getting an option more...

Unfortunately it just works for US People, to optain these movies....
