I'm currently driving a 2008 lx570. 99% road use only. The problem around here are the roads, they aren't smooth as they have been repaired 100 times, which make them bumpy. Currently I have 21inch rims, I want to change to 17 or 18, any tips please, some say the 21s are more comfortable on road and other suggest 17/18

I have to think the more rubber the better the ride for your situation.

17 or 18 will be similar and probably the best for a smooth ride. 21 are the worst, 20 are OK. Also important will be getting a standard load tire, or if you need LT tires, then the lower the load rating, the better for ride quality (generally speaking). If you don't tow/haul much, then SL tires are the way to go for a pavement pounder.

Either 17s or 18s with SL tires will ride best. If looking for aftermarket wheels I'd go 17s. If wanting a lesser cost option I'd get some 18" LC or tundra/sequoia take offs.

How is your AHC? New globes would probably help a lot, if yours are 17-18 years old.

Other than potholes and broken roads, do you drive any curves.? Do you like sporty or spirited driving. Larger wheels do provide better cornering response.

Small tailorings is all you need. No need for a dramatic change down to 17s.

18s and 20s is what I would focus on. Perhaps with a mild bump in overall diameter as big tires make all bumps smaller.

Pay attention to required inflation pressures, i.e. stay away from 275s that tend to need higher inflation pressures to meet equivalent load ratings.

Wider tire fitments (relative to wheel width) tend to ride better because of the way the sidewall profile curves versus a more squared profile like a narrow tire.

P-metric all season (A/S) or highway tread (H/T) in SL is likely what you're looking for.

I would look at 285 or 295s in 31.5-32.5" diameter sizes.
