Hi
This is my first post in this forum and I hope it will be usefull to all:
For my self I used to have a slight leak in my 07 Lx and the dealer stated to repair the rack but I decided to get the rack checked a rack repair mechanic in which he pointed that the steering bushes has a little play and he can fabricate Teflon bushing but I did refused and ordered Polyurethan bushing over the internet.
When the steering rack got much play i decided to replace the steering box seals and bushs.
The mechanic did his job and the wheels got aligned. After a week i was driving over a highway and all of a sudden i heared a buzzing sound with brack activated and i thuoght that would be some slippy road. But after 2 days on sharp right turn the buzzing alarm sounds again with left brake activated and pumped 3 times over 3 seconds.
After calling lexus service center they didnt figure any issue with the car and they noticed the steering box need to be replaced with new one as they said the polybushes are not strong. They did the alignement done again with zero point callibriation only.
The problem still exist and i started replacing the parts but no improvement.
The parts i did replaced and didn't solve my problem.
- new tires
-new Yaw rate sensor ( from Lexus)
- cleaning all ABS rotors and cleaning all ABS sensors.
- checked all connections from/to skid control Module are good and no issue with them
-put the car on the spec hight and front suspension pressure to 6.9Mpa (no fix to my problem)
- replaced the rear upper control arm (no fix to my issue)
I got fedup from searching and no clear answers were found.
Finally i called lexus service again and they confirmed the problem from the steering rack bushing as they were uncapable to take car load on right turn.
I decided to move this way although its expensive but i'm sure to OEM steering rack bushings are having more strenght to handle car load on some corners.
I will post my update once the steering in replaced by lexus.
