LX470 QUESTION

Looking at purchasing a 2005 LX470. It was initially registered in 2004 so I'm a bit confused as to if its an 04' or 05'.

My question is whether the transmission on this "2005" is the upgraded newest transmission? I'm not concerned about the variable valve timing but I do want the latest And greatest tranny.

registration doesn't mean anything, it's the title that matters. if it says 05, then it is.

The new tranny came out in 03, but if you read slee's newbie guide you'd know that Slee Off-Road 100 Series Newbie Guide Regardless, you have the "latest and greatest tranny"

Great thanks for the fast response!! Looks like the 05's had darn near everything other than the VVT. And thanks for reminding me about Slee, I'd totally fo gotten about them.

NP. Read that link, it's a great list of changes and things to look for. VVTi is nice I guess, but not really needed IMO. the tranny is the big thing that you want.

Biggest difference in 2005 I believe was the addition of Bluetooth. Otherwise identical to post 2003.

Deal fell through.. It had 80K on it so was pretty appealing. Looks like I'll stick with my 2000 until I find something that fits the budget. Not too sad as I just had the water pump, timing belt, intake replaced in August. She should be good for another 190K!! Heck maybe when I look again I'll find an 06' or 07' with 80K!!
