Slee Blueberry with recovery points modified to better fit these Blue Ox adapters might work. Hmm.

Hoser, that's exactly the kind of set-up I'm hoping could work. It's so simple. Christo's concern has me concerned, of course. I had actually been wondering if the Blueberry would be a good one to adapt, but since the man who makes it says no... Do any of you know of a bumper that might be built heavily enough or could be modified/braced/strengthened so that it would be likely to work?

There is a chance to bolt the Blue Ox to the bottom of the frame on some of the bumpers. I was not aware they had a mount. That is going to be trail and error.

Christo, can you clarify this quote for us? Are you suggesting that the Blue Ox would go under the bumper because the bottom of the some bumpers is fairly high off the ground...so the Blue Ox could go under it and attach to the frame? If yes, which bumper(s) do you think I should consider?

Thanks!
Matt

Here's one example of a possible solution. Took some engineering. But, from the pictures, I can't tell exactly how everything went together. Did he just cut slots in the ARB to accommodate the shackle points? It kind of looks that way.

I'll get some more
Info and photos up for you tomorrow. I also want to get an ARB and thought I could flat
Plate the brackets directly onto the bumper. Jeep does this. Well, anyway, I guess we will see.

Sorry I never got photos for you. I know we've been pming Matt, but let me take some better photos of our stowmaster setup. It's rated for 6000 lbs and of course our truck is right at 5780 at the moment with junk in the back, so we are on the ragged edge, but I think we are ok. As for towing forces, flat towing your cruiser does generate some force on the tow system, but certainly nothing that more extreme than trying to jerk recover your truck or someone else's out of mud or up an embankment etc. flat towing down the road is relatively mild in comparison to the forces peeps put on their bumpers/shackles on the trail. That photo you posted above where the recovery shackles are attached directly to the frame, that's how I attached my base plate using the included hardware. Once again, I periodically check my mounts and the huge bolts holding them to my frame (lock washers too) and they haven't shown any loosening, signs of stress, or deformation. So far so good. About to add another 3000 miles on my setup so we can report back more data.
