My $0.02. We have an LX470 and and LS430. The 430 is the wife's DD. She prefers it over the LX for getting around. And I agree with her. Lot's of space and more airbags too.
For our kids it is easier to get in and out of the LS by themselves (note the LX has 33" tires and Slee sliders, not the running boards). The self-closing doors of the LS are a "must have" with small children. No need to get out and walk around to close all doors properly.
Personally, I think the quality of the LS is better than that of the LX. Doors feel much more solid, stainless steel exhaust, etc. As a nice bonus, the depreciation of the LS seems even higher than that of an LX! And since both vehicles have the "same" engine, I buy oil filters in bulk. They fit the lawn mower too!
