I wasn't thrilled with the brakes on the 99 LX.....brakes were the only thing it wasn't takin to Lexus for, so one rear rotor was replaced by one guy, the parking drum was out of adjustment, the front pads were do for replacement soon, pedal was lower then it should be........IMOP it needed all new stuff....if for no other reason thatn we don't have to worry about the brakes for ALONG time, so why not do it right?

So I got new OEM LC pads(same as the LX) front and rear, all new shims, wear indicators. Went to the local brake supply shop and got all new rotors.

Cost for the stuff from Toyota, $120(ish) oh....few more bucks for the front end seals.
Cost for the 4 rotors, $210

Then we needed a shop we could trust to work on it, I didnt have the time nor desire, Toyota can't work on it(cant warnateee the work). Connie sudjested a place her lot uses for all their rigs, I checked them out.........not ONE person I asked(and I asked alot of folks) has anything but great things to say......including the Toyota dealer.....who sends out some of there work to them.

So Connie took it down to the shop in the mid morning, picked it up at 4PM with a total bill for $240(they had quoted $400 as a estimate).....which included packing the bearings. Brakes are GREAT, they did wonderfull work......:) When is the last time you got a bill for less then the estimate?..........almost never

If anyone needs work done in the Tacoma area I highly recommend Bitterlings, they have been in the same spot for 50 years, family ran, nice folks, great work, very fair prices

God only knows what Lexus would have charged? prolly $500+ for labor.

Good stuff!!! You probably got parts and labor for less than the labor alone would have been!

great!

let us know how well the non-OEM rotors are holding (and what kind they are if they are good)

Centrex? they are OEM or better, everything I have gotten at this shop has been great stuff.
