The front of the cladding on my drivers rear door is falling off and flapping free, due to broken tabs on the back. Has anyone found a successful way to reattach, or at least get them rebounded to the door? I've tried double-sided tape and a little bit of glue, but to no avail. Can't think of another option other than running a self-tapping sheet metal screw through the cladding into the door.

Epoxy can be part of an effective repair on these. How you proceed likely depends on where they are broken and what you have remaining of the original tabs/flares/etc. It could be possible to re-attach the original tabs and then re-enforce them with additional epoxy/thickener/glass layup. It may be necessary to introduce new materials, etc.

Here's an example of one possible path forward which should be strong enough to work though it could be made stronger with different materials, etc.

Sourcing used cladding/flares that aren't broken is another option.

Do you have any pics of the damaged cladding? Like @jpoole said above if you can epoxy the tabs back on that would be the easiest. If that’s not an option I’d get some adhesive like 3M panel bond or tiger seal that they use for body kits. They have some serious hold. If you have to use screws I’d do it form the inside of the door panel so it’s hidden.

Thanks for the responses!
Unfortunately, the clips broke off and are long gone. I've looked for some used cladding, but figured I would try an alternative first. The truck is currently being painted and should be back this week, so can't take a picture yet. It's my 15 year old daughters truck, so I'm not needing anything perfect, just to keep the cladding from flying off! The body shop did say they attempted adhesive and clamped it, but it separated as soon as they removed the clamps.

Thanks for the ideas.

Urethane caulk or construction adhesive (Home Depot) is very strong and will stick to about anything. I used it to attach the cladding on my 100 series where it no longer had any mounts. Must have the word 'Urethane' in the name. 'PL' makes this stuff.
