Hi,

I have a 2011 lx570 and have a 3 inch section of AHC height control tube that is rusted and now has a hole. The rest of the lines look good, little to no rust. It's a spot above the frame kind of tucked away. I bought the replacement tube and attempted to replace it, but cant break the fittings loose. Im hesitant to pay a shop hundreds of dollars to attempt to swap this out and perhaps do more damage since there is a little rust on the fittings.
I was googling hydraulic line repair options and think it is doable. Lots of options in the 3000+ psi range using compression fittings. Was thinking of cutting out the rusted length and replacing it with a length of the new tube, then using the fittings to join. 200 forums have had very few failures thus far so arent much help. I figured this kind of repair question due to rust would fare better here. Anyone done any AHC line repair similar to this? What worked, what didnt? Thanks.

Bump, thinking about cutting out the rusted piece, then joining a piece of the replacement tube with couplers. Then braze. Saw a few posts about things like this but no one got back with their results.

Can you post some pictures of the problem fittings. Maybe someone will have some ideas about how to break them loose.

Old post but wanted to see if the OP had tried the compression fittings/how it ended up.
