does it hurt the car to drive it in Sport all the time? Anyway to keep it from defaulting back to normal every time I start it?
Nope to both of your questions, unfortunately for the second question too.

Doesn’t hurt it but the gears hold longer and the last few gears are locked out. Technically not as good for fuel economy but who cares… things got 10 speeds. I drive around in sport all the time.

After racing to the hospital in sport mode (12 minute commute turns to 7 minutes) for the occasional emergency, I am always a little surprised at three things: 1) the heat emanating from the front wheels, and 2) the smells of hot tire rubber and hot brakes, and 3) how fast this full sized SUV can be flogged down the road.

I think flogging any vehicle constantly isn't good for it, but that can be done in any mode. I don't think running the system in sport mode will cause long term problems unless every red light is a zero-sixty run.

sport + is very fast. love it. comes off the line from stop quicker as well. mpg goes down i find though to 14-15 but still not even 1000 miles on my rig. i see im not the only one rushing to hospital here...

It would be great to keep the settings instead of changing every time you turn the truck off.

It stay in Eco, Comfort, and Normal. Will it not stay in Custom mode?
