I've done this with success twice, but have also heard of people getting old ones that were flat. Maybe read the EBAY reviews.

It's as safe as any other long distance grey market transaction. Mine showed up in a few days, including awesome japanese newspaper wrapping.

Cheapest I've been able to find is through megazip.net and promo code direct from Japanese warehouse. Mine are sitting in the garage waiting to roll 120K. Shipping was surprisingly fast.

Did you end up fixing your bouncy ride. I am having a bouncy ride that makes most of the tar snakes feel like washboards. Here is what I've done so far and info on my vehicle:
  • 2013 LX 570
  • 168k miles
  • Globes/Fluid (OEM purchased from eBay) replaced at 167k Miles
  • Bounce was before the change and still prevalent after the change.
  • Running Icon Recon Pro 17" rims & C-Rated 285/70/17 Falken Wildpeak ATW4
    • Rims are 25 offset.
    • 34 PSI and 42 PSI (no difference in ride quality for bounce) - Bounce was not there when I first put these on.
  • Rear Seats removed / EE Offroad Skidplates / Gamiviti Rack (all on before bounce began)
  • Road Force Balanced less than 100 miles ago. Did not fix it.
  • Alignment done with balance. Did not fix it.

Things to note:
  • When I put the Icons and the Falkens on the vehicle the balance wasn't great and the alignment wasn't great. That gave a wobble in the wheel. Since those were done, wobble in wheel is gone. There is still a weird bounce in the suspension though.
  • This bounce is sort of squirrelly feeling. Tar snakes are rather pronounced and creates a very uneasy oscillating feeling.
  • Before this I had 20" OEM rims with Nitto Ridge grapplers. There was not these feeling, but the rims would go out of balance in less than 4k miles.

Things I'm wondering if they are culprit:
  • Air in lines
  • Accumulators - I only did the globes. If it's accumulators, does anyone have a video on how to replace and am I correct it's like $2K in parts?
  • Shocks / or other suspension components - all still original
  • Bushings
  • Perhaps steering / tie rod issue
  • Air in the lines possibly
  • Not enough weight on the vehicle since these are C rated tires.

Is anyone is Socal available to help me take a look. I feel like I'm getting a little out of my depth with this one. Open to suggestions but I'm also just sort of spinning my wheels (figuratively here). Even if someone would do a ride with me to do a butt check and see if I'm just over analyzing would be helpful. I'm in Ventura County but will drive to anyone if it's not too far.

Attached is a photo of the alignment before and after.

Video also attached of me driving down a rather smooth road. repaved with asphalt about a year ago. Tar snake hear or there from new construction sections. But mostly this is just the oscillation happening on the road. Can't feel this on the steering wheel. Mostly feel it on your back and butt.

Sorry to hear you’re having trouble. Since the globes were just changed, I’d focus on bleeding the system thoroughly — air in the system will definitely cause issues like this. Take your time and bleed it again; it makes a huge difference.

Keep in mind, the shocks themselves don’t have a big effect on ride quality — most of that comes from other parts of the system, like the globes.

Also, switching from P-metric to LT tires is a big change and absolutely affects ride quality. That said, plenty of people run E-rated tires on these trucks without complaints — it’s just about knowing what to expect.

Do you have a reference point for how a “better riding” 200 should feel? Some folks just don’t love how a body-on-frame vehicle rides compared to a unibody, especially with LT tires — it’s just part of the design.

I’m sure others with more experience will have good advice to add too.

Copy. I’m going to give it another bleed. Every time I blew the system after the gloves, I got the AHC error when I followed NPK’s video. Is there a better way of doing this?

Only thing I can compare this ride to is my dad’s 2011 2500 Silverado with 220k miles with all original components. That is smoother. We’ve had trucks all our life, so not unfamiliar to the body on frame uneasy roll type thing.

This ride feels closer to when you see those civics with the cut suspension ha!

Is there any difference between sport mode to comfort mode in the dampers?

I had struts and globes changed as well ahc flushed. It made significant difference. I couldn’t tell difference before changeout between sport and comfort on dampers.

I do have Michelin defenders tires.

Only slightly. But I can’t tell a huge difference. Like when I do it, I wonder if the difference is in my head or not.

Someone mentioned to me doing a bleed as well as doing the 6 accumulators next to the globes? I only did the globes and fluid.
