I'm in the market for a lx570. What years was the crawl feature available as an option, and was it ever standard?

The LX is Lexus top of the line. CRAWL was always there from day one. Unlike the GX. It's been upgrade in later years to work faster, but still uber effective in all years.

I've played around with Crawl Control on my LX but have never actually needed it. Does it sound as horrible to outside observers as it does inside the vehicle? I'm almost embarrassed to use it for fear of some Jeep driver asking me if I have a mechanical problem

Crawl got improved in 2012?? Toyota added more steps in the CRAWL control i think…went from 3 speeds to 5? Someone with earlier build can chime in.

Personally, i LOVE CRAWL! I use it quite often…got used to the awful noise…and just let the system do its job. I concentrate on steering. Speed 1 i never use…too slow. Speed 5 is kinda fast.

The CRAWL sound is noticeable on the outside but is significantly quieter then the racket we hear inside the cab. The engine noise drowns some of it out.

Standard all years. 3 speed until 2011. 5 speed/MTS/Turn Assist 2013 onwards standard.

If you are actually on rugged terrain i find even speed 1 can be quiet.
When you are smooth sailing speed 1 is overshot and the brakes go off like crazy to slow you down even though nothing is slipping.
Up hill or flat that is. Downhill im not sure how it sounds using DAC.

Where is the control knob on the early(2008-2011) years? In all the pictures I see online I don't see the round knob under the gear shifter like the later years
