Hey Guys, just had a dreaded Ignition column shaft broken which I had the Indy tech replace the whole unit (sample pict attached)

Car had the dis-connected neg terminal of the battery for 4-5 days.

Replacement went fine, no un usual lights on, it drives fine but it seems like A/C is not working now.

1)- With A/C off: If i turn the temp to lowest setting (cold), I still get the hot air.
2)- With A/C on: At the lowest setting (cold), I do get some cold air but as soon as I turn the temp to say 63*, once again it blows hot air
3)- It seems like, I can also hear a slight whistling sound as well coming from the vents?

Does this sound like a fuse issue or may be the blender(?) motor?

Please advice/help.

Thanks

Steering lock assemble.webp

I believe there is a temperature sensor that is hooked up behind the panel that was taken off when you changed the ignition shaft. Maybe check if this wasn't re-connected before the panel was replaced.

Possible to get a location and a picture/diagram of the sensor? I am pretty sure that's what probably it is but Indy is insisting he plugged in every thing. I am taking the truck back to him this evening so we will see.

Thanks

Its behind the slotted cutout in the knee panel beside the steering column. Pop the panel off and you should see the white corrugated plastic hose [important that's there], two wires, and the black plastic sensor block. Take a look at the sensor - carefully clean it if its covered in fratz.

Do a quick search for "climate control temp sensor" it has all the info you need. Essentially there is a plastic corrugated pilot tube that can become displaced off the back of the cabin temp sensor, which is located behind the slotted grill below the ignition lock.

You guys are awesome

Exactly what the problem was... The hose was off and the connecter wasn't plugged in

Back to normal transomission now...

Thanks once again.
