Has anyone used a second gen LS400 steering wheel on a 2000 LX470?

From the pictures I've seen, it looks exactly the same except for the steering wheel controls. I would reuse my airbag so I think this might work. See the stock photo below...

They are also much easier to find and much less $$$

Thoughts?

I'm very interested in this. The taiwan ebay wheels look good but the wood doesn't match and that would drive me crazy, I need this though.

Looks like this may have already been done on the 80 Series side: LS400 Steering Wheel? One member posted the splines on the 80 are the same as the LS400. Now the question becomes - do the 100 & 80 have the same spline count? Looks like they used older 400's for their 80's in the thread I attached though.

I'm curious whether most of the same era Toyota/Lexus wheels in general will fit. My 2008 Sienna's wheel looks identical to my 03 Cruiser.

Makes me wonder the same thing. If you google "LS400 steering wheel swap" there's a lot of chat in other forums about this same topic, even some being successfully done.

I can't be positive that they're all swappable across models, but I can say that many Toyota wheels fit on multiple vehicles. @sacmaster They're probably the exact same wheel. The wheel in my mom's old GX470 was the same as the one in your wife's van, I believe.

I was able to swap an IS300 wheel into my SC400 straight over, just with slightly different turn signal stalk positions. If an LS400 wheel fit in an 80, I'd say it's a pretty good bet that an LS400 (can't speak to 430) would also fit in a 100 series. In fact I'd be confident enough in it that I'd just buy a wheel and cross fingers if I were in the market.

I've been hunting cheap LS400/LS430 mirror switches in an attempt to get mine to illuminate, They look identical but I haven't been able to remove my 2000 LC mirror switch to check the part and details of the switch itself, lol... TO many "projects" so little time!

I would hope the wheel would match up.
