I had an LPG conversion on my 1996 FZJ80 and had it for a few yrs. I had a 100 litre (two tanks underneath in 'cage' where spare wheel was). Without any "fuel" modifications I would get approx 10-15% less MPG than when running unleaded petrol. Dual fuel and can switch while you're driving with no issues.
If you can decrease the cost of installation (incl. any rear wheel swing-out tire carrier or 'mods') and get a good local price on propane then it might be worth it. You may want to consider a larger supply tank at your house/office and buy in bulk (will need a pump) to drop the price.
In Australia they do have a UniChip that can tune the engine to give greater MPG/HP than when on petrol but adds to expense. Also if running LPG exclusively then consider a diesel 'drip' (again from Aussie) as fuel is tooooo clean for engine.
Ping me offline if want more info
