Anyone have a good picture of the lower radiator hose on a 87' FJ60?

Once the small rubber section between the Water Pump and Metal section is mounted, it seems the lower portion doesn't line up to the radiator outlet?

I just want to make sure I am trying to mount it correctly.

I know a very dumb question, thanks in advance for any pics and/or advice.

Here is one of an 83....with an oil cooler and rear heater...hope it helps.
Lower Radiator Hose.webp

If you have AC the alternator will probably have to come out for the middle hose. Do you have a hose kit? the top and bottom hoses are same diameter (or very close).

I just did this fix... clamps still seem to be adjusting after being replaced outside in the cold... small leaks from the ends of the hoses until tightened.

Cool thanks.

Is there a slight bend downward in the section that hooks into the radiator?

Mine doesn't seem to be a direct shot, but my metal bracket on the metal section somehow got bent slightly where it mounts to the isolator.

Thanks for the pics etc.

Turns out the pass side motor mount was upside down. when installed the correct way it has a small notch for the bracket attached to the metal portion of the lower radiator hose to fit.

When it was mounted upside down it would change the angle of the rubber section of the hoses when it was bolted to the isolater (small rubber with threaded studs on each end) allowing only one hose to fit properly.

Replaced all the radiator and oil cooler hoses

Thanks for posting these pictures. I used them to help complete a full radiator hose and oil cooler hose replacement. It wasn't that hard. I removed the alternator, air conditioning compressor (it was out of refrigerant anyway) and the mounting brackets. It made the job so much easier. Now I have even more confidence in the 60 for long trips. I retained the use hoses that were still in usable condition for emergency back up use. Replaced the old hoses with Toyota Factory Hoses. MAF and SOR were cheaper but I figure the hoses on the 60 were Toyota Factory originals and they lasted 26 years, so stick with what works.
