That makes even less sense

h42 or h41/toybox/split case with marks gears; This is a real option. I would take a toybox over a klune V anyday.

why .. ?

better performance . ? resistance .. price . ?

What is your planned use for this truck I think is a far better question...

Thanks for all the info so far guys.

Steve, really this is a DD first, I choose not to have two vehicles (mostly cost issues) and love driving my 40, so rain or shine this is the vehicle I am driving in. That said, it is a weekend warrior too, I love to enjoy the outdoors, moderate trails, fire roads, Moab, Mountain passes etc.

Really, I was in my friends rig and he got his crawler gears (4runner) so cheap I was hoping I was just missing something and that option was out there for the 40 for the same price.

I was out with Treeroot yesterday and he litterally let his (AMAZING) rig walk (read idle, no gas pedal) right up the steepest section of the trail that day. It is just a option I am looking into. I don't even have a locker yet, I am trying to learn how to drive without one first.

I learned to wheel by the smell of the clutch. It helps but...I would rather cheat and throw some gears in and at least one locker :D . It was fun wheelin' with you. Glad you tried the hill because you drove it first time up. That had to make you feel good.

Are you still going on the Ghost Town run? Feel free to drive my truck anytime.

having an extra lever in the cab is very cool. Just had my toybox installed and I love it. with the 4.56s its about 100:1. Perfect for my waggy. Makes for a good traffic crawler too.

Thanks Mike-

I still need to get a little seat time with your rig. Fun getting out with you this weekend, Lime Creek was a blast! I feel like I am slow enough for now. It was wild seeing you idle up the same hill I made by picking the easiest of lines!
