-- my '91 was having all sorts of strains when the electrical system was challenged -- eg, putting the window up while closing the sunroof all while the lights were on --

-- Landtank Rick suggested new positive and ground cables to the battery -- I did the ground myself (after I watched Rick do it), and the positive was a mess, linking to the starter, I think, so I had the stealer do it while I had my truck looked at for a recall (which Toy didn't honor, BTW) --

-- anyway, problem SOLVED -- everything's great -- no more odd dimming and crapping out of the Sirius and the like --

THANKS RICK!

Eric,

Can you please describe how you did the negative cable? What kind of cable did you use? How you soldered the cable ..... tips and techniques.

I went with OEM -- the first one lasted 190K, so I splurged for this one -- went from the (-) and pigtailed out to the sheet-metal and to the engine --

Glad to hear it Eric. I hate suggesting such expensive repairs on a hunch but felt I could take you if you came at me pissed :flipoff2: .

So anything come from those two we met at the bar, Loud and Obnoxious?

haha -- thanks rick -- i was SOOO happy to see my radio at full-power yesterday when I opened my window -- was sort of like an outer-body-experience -- ;)

it turns out loud-and-proud's dad owned 40 burger kings at one point -- recently sold 25 of them --

Im trying to replace my negative battery cable but the bolt to the engine block is proving to be a booger. I decided to quit before I stripped it and will take it to a friends house who has better tools.... air powered.

I had mine custom made at Wrangler Northwest Power Products. Cheaper than OEM and much more beef. Probably could have made the same thing with some welding cable but I dont have time to run around looking for a place.
