low oil pressure after head rebuild

I just got my 85 FJ60 up and running tonight after doing a head rebuild/valve regrind and it runs okay but it seems to lack oil pressure. Before the rebuild it was right in the middle of the guage but now it's toward the bottom, but still in between the lines. Obviously it's something I've done since it was fine before the rebuild. But do the seals I replaced have to seat correctly or something? Is there anything obvious that may be the culprit? Thanks!

I would buy a cheap mechanical guage and hook it up to get a accurate oil pressure reading. Do a search for ideas on them.
