Hi,

I've already posted this question earlier. Sometimes, after the truck is being parked overnight or if I don't drive it for a few days, right after I cranck it, the low oil light comes on. I did check the oil level and it is OK. Someone mentioned that it might be electrical or the sensor needs cleaning. The question is, after I clean it and before installing it, do I have to use some kind of sealant or?????

Thank you,
Alex

No sealant required for the oil level sensor. It has an o-ring type gasket that seals the opening into the upper oil pan. You can probably reuse the old one, although they are very cheap to replace.

I wrote O-ring in my post but deleated it as I have so many O-rings in my parts bin I have no idea where they all go :D
For some reason I was thinking the seal was a "D" shaped gasket.

Get a real oil pressure gauge, hook it up, run it into the cab and keep track of the readings. Anything else is just guesswork. Compare the readings to the OEM values.

THe oil pressure and oil leval are not related. THe oil level is controlled by a float.
