loss of power

I was driving home the other day and my 80 looses power. car will not rev above 2k even in neutral. I noticed a loud hissing which turned out to be an exhaust leak at the header and down pipe flange connection. There was also a vacuum line which had blow off and I replaced it. The car still has no power and i drove it home at 10mph. cranks fine, does not smoke. my Cats are old and rattle at 900 rpm. I am going to cut them out and put a straight pipe. Any ideas? Would it be possible that the car is in limp mode because the amount of back pressure? Thanks in advance.

Blocked CAT? (Internal plates come loose and block the outlet)
Clogged CAT from running crappy fuel and not driving it long distances to get it good and hot?
