Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I'm wondering how much are catalytic converters worth ? They are off a 1995 FZJ80 from California - The Land of Emissions Regulations. They are usable and functional and the bricks inside appear to be intact and in good shape. The smaller units are the rear cat and the larger unit is the manifold cat. I've heard going rates from $20 all the way up to $600 ??

Thank in advance.

Just saying, it's now illegal to sell used Catalytic converters, and you need a license to buy them.

If you sell to a recycler, you'll need to prove ownership, and recycler is required to take your name, addy, etc.

Kalifornia law.

Somebody in CA will snap those up as they can't use non-OEM cats. I sold my last set for $500 with the down pipe. Spike Strip and while that might be a law can they really enforce it?

Nope.

It was information just to protect seller as Los Angeles has a task force that purportedly enforces this, but my guess is it's staffed with a bunch of incompetent rummies as would be par for Los Angeles Gov't services.

FWIW, I recently tried to list a Tacoma "Catalytic Converter Shield" anti-theft device on both Craigs list and Ebay and was blocked from listing cuz of CAT.

This law is supposed to help curtail Cat conv theft, but ...

Just an FYI to be careful who you sell to.
