I have a ’91 Landcruiser and the top wire (eyelet connector over post with nut) on my alternator broke at the eyelet. I performed a roadside fix by splicing the wires that join at the eyelet and straddled them over the post and used the nut to hold them in place with the exposed wires connecting with the post. Once home, I attached a new eyelet to the wires and it is more or less back to original. However, the lower wire(s) that are attached to the alternator via a plastic plug connector is now terribly loose and rattles off of the alternator while driving, thus draining my battery.
Do I need a new wiring harness or is there a way that I can make the connection ‘tighter’?
Thanks!
