I am looking to buy a 100 series Lx with 172k miles. I am curious if there was anything I should be on the look out for in terms of issues or maintenance.

Take it and get it inspected before you buy it. The most ACComplished indi cruiser shop in the ATL area is ACC garage. If you can't get over there, Toyotechs over by PDK are also quite good all things Toyota, but they only have 1 cruiser knowledgeable tech.

Brake Master cylinder

Transmission
Transfercase

Run a Carfax and service history through lexus driver.com by entering vin# its free....You will know what you have.

Don't forget to check for cracked exhaust manifolds.

If they're cracked it will sound like a sewing machine when it's cold and/or under a load.

The manifolds are in the top two most difficult repairs on a LX, along with the steering rack.
