Looking for Used Toyota 4Runner Deals or 22R Engine Prices in the U.S. — Any Tips?

I recently moved to Anaheim and have started looking into buying a used Toyota 4Runner — preferably something affordable and reliable. I’m also curious about the Toyota 22R engine and what kind of prices people are seeing across the U.S.


Do you guys have any suggestions for where to find good listings or deals? I'm open to platforms, classifieds, or marketplaces that cater to 4Runners or Toyota parts in general.

Facebook market place is the new Craigslist for the US. The 22r and re are good motors but underpowered by today’s standards. I went from a 22r to a 22re to a 3rz and I wouldn’t go back to the R series for a daily driver. Truthfully I’d look at 3rd gen 4Runners with the 3.4 V6. It’s going to be more comfortable, the engine has a lot more power and will last just as long too.
