Looking for some trails (A trail)

Sunday taking my son and a couple of N.Y. friends up the Apache Trail. He wants to do just a bit of 4 Wheeling along the way. Looking for something Moderate north of the trail maybe up past GoldField. I know there's some trails there just never been on any of them. Looking for maybe 1 hour out and back. Thanks in advance for any help. FJC is stock hight (2 inch leveling kit only) with skids and mildly aggressive tires.

Montana Mountain 28 miles starting at Queens Valley and coming out at the Boyces arboretum.

IIRC, there was something said at the last Tonto meeting about a washout, construction, in the Fish Creek hill area, restriction, closure, maybe? I didn't pay much attention, wasn't on my list of places to visit in the near future. If you plan includes going that far, maybe want to call Tonto and see what is up?

Last week-end I took the trail from Roosevelt to AJ and all was fine. How long ago was that Tonto meeting? I'll check with them today anyway. THX

A couple of weeks ago. IIRC it was something about road damage and there is a scheduled repair that will temporarily impact traffic.

A couple of weeks ago. IIRC it was something about road damage and there is a scheduled repair that will temporarily impact traffic.

I didn't see any road damage last week-end so maybe it was already fixed. ???? Guess if it's closed Sunday we'll just have to turn around. Not going anyplace in particular. As far as a short 4 wheel side trip I might go to where the old bridge was 2 or 3 miles past Tortilla Flats.

Plans Changed

Never got to Apache Trail --- Went 4 wheeling up Box Canyon and out Cottonwood. New Treadwrights worked great and the new armor now has a few scratches. Lots of fun by all.
