Pretty new to both Landcruisers and to IH8MUD so I was extremely excited to find this subforum, I guess this will be a sort of intro thread as well. My name's Cole and I picked up my 1988 FJ62 a little less than a year ago.
Here she is:

Now that I know there are some local Cruisers, I was hoping to find someone who can help me out with my FJ62. This is a pretty general query as I'd like to get to know all you guys, but I am looking for someone familiar with Cruisers to help me get started on fixing up my FJ62.

I have a small amount of mechanical knowledge but mostly need help with diagnosing the problems so that I can get to work on them. So if you guys have any suggestions as to who to talk to to get started or if you just want to spend a couple hours wrenching that would be awesome!

Cheers,

Cole

Nice pic with Beacon Hill behind.....

We will be stripping an FJ60 at my house on the north side this spring. I think a lot of the parts are spoken for, but I'll let you know when so you can show up and at least drink some homemade beer.

And Welcome to the hobby!

Welcome. I'm up for turning wrenches whenever I am free.

Welcome to the forum. I love my 62 to death and ALWAYS have a handful of projects in progress on it. I'm down for wrenching any chance I get, but I have to finish setting up my shop's electrical before I can really dive into it again.

The wife and me live out in the valley.

The wife and I.

This is awesome, thank you all for such positive responses! I'll have to send you guys some PMs to set up sometimes to hang out. I keep seeing rumblings of a larger meet up, I'd love to try and coordinate something where we can all get together. If you guys would be able to participate I would be up for setting up the preliminary stuff.

Welcome to the Cruiser family! Sweet ride too!

With as scattered around as we are, and tight schedules (I'm learning FAST that being a family man cuts about 99% of any personal time one previously had), it's hard to set up a definitive time/place for a meet. I've suggested Flamin' Joe's (either the north end or the valley one) and people sounded good on that one. Another suggestion would be an evening sometime during the summer at either Lilac Lanes or Players & Spectators for some bowling, drinks and Cruiser talk. Just make it a late social "dudes' night" or something. Not to say wives or GFs who enjoy Cruisers wouldn't be welcome to come too, but I already know mine would opt out

Viking anyone? This weekend is bad, unless we want to meet at an Irish bar...

An Irish bar? I am so sick of these Irish stereotypes, as soon as I finish this beer I'm gonna hit someone! :D

We are always down to BBQ! If you guys feel like filling up the tanks we can host or we could get together at a local park.

No Park, can't drink beer in a park :)

House party!?!?
