Ok i am planning on building a Square Drop style trailer . I do not want to build it out of Plywood . My thoughts are to build a Aluminum Frame out of 1x1 sq tube . I am hung up on the outer skin . should i just skin with a heavy gauge aluminum . or are some using a substrate under a thin sheet of aluminum . then 1 inch insulation . then finish the inside off with 1/4 inch ply or 1/2 .

Going to get some Filon and try that out

Some foams do not play well with either polyester or epoxy resins. A guy on the pop-top campers forum learned that the hard way, and this is how I know anything about it. Part-way thru a custom build it started doing something that doomed the whole project. He was cutting the foam to size and bonding it in place before covering everything with fiberglass cloth and resin.
