Looking for Hilux Cab

Where would I start to look for a 4 door hilux cab and doors. I`m looking to swap one onto my 85 ex cab. I`m hoping to find a LHD so I guess Europe or some south american countries. Any info would be very helpful. Thanks

Bud from Budbuilt imported one from OZ. I had one lined up in OZ in '01, ready to ship... but the wrecker messed it up.

If you import it from Oz, plan on spending around $3500-$4k to purchase, ship and import. And you'll likely have to do it in pieces... To switch to LHD, just swap firewalls... or find another source like you mentioned.

Also consider checking in CA - these vehicles were available there as well, and you might have an easier time finding/importing one... But also will have more rust to deal with.

check with a company in canton georgia called jerco (sp) they do half cuts from japan and oz, dont have a website, but phone is: 770.479.4942. they are cool and really knowledgable.

I've seen one double cab used from a wrecked taco. I'll look for pics, but it was several years ago. Unless you specifically wanted the hi-lux, it is an option to consider if you just really needed 4 doors...

If I remember correctly it had an 85 SA frame, 4.3 chevy and auto trans, taco double cab, front fiberglass fenders, and rear flatbed.
