When my 2024 and 2025 free time happened to converge with good weather I always ended up crawling over, under or inside the LX470 I bought in Nov. 2023. At this point I'm tired of fixing, maintaining, anti-rusting, modifying, skinning knuckles, breaking back and really just want to drive the darn thing. I'm still learning the trails within reach of the Lower Mainland and wonder if any other cruisers need a safety buddy this summer? I have all the necessary recovery gear to pull own my weight on the trail (pun intended) and would prefer day trips and/or up to 2 sleeps away from civilization.

To be honest, I've basically exhausted my inner circle (those with trucks) and so I'm putting this feeler out there. My kids are old enough to avoid the need for supervision but my buddies remain slaves to their 2.0 versions. I really want to call them after my awesome 4x4 trips and gloat to the point that they put their kids up for adoption.

Good idea asking. There usually is some kind of day trip right around the Cruiser Days in July on the 19th.
Also the July 5th 4WD assoc car show is a 4WD event. Sign up, show up and ask around. Guarantee you'll be
maxing your visa at the fuel pumps soon enough!! LOL! See you on the 19th.

The 4WDABC also has monthly runs to Hale and other local destinations. Larger groups and you might get Jeep burns, but great people all-round

Thanks for the tip Rob. I'd already cut my teeth on the local Association group runs last year (Grotto and Hale Creek). I've also done some solo exploring around Stave and Chilliwack. After a couple close calls breaking things on the trail (limping home), I realize I should stick to the buddy system. It's not the cruiser's fault at all. Just me being a dumb primate and trying to drive over things I shouldn't have.
