A the majority of the gears and an input shaft are completely stripped. I was told it was probably due to the truck being driven with the hubs locked for a long period of time.

If the guys in the Austin area are willing to help you get the bits and pieces. Do you have it tore down now? Can you post picks of what you need?? I have a rebuild kit. If it helps to get you going I will contribute getting you up and running. ANYONE OUT THERE GOT SOME PARTS????

Currently no I do not have it torn down, this is my DD. I have a list of every part that I need somewhere Ill try to find it and post a copy of the list.

OK that is a start. But I am curious as to how this is a DD if your t-case is in such bad shape. I would pull the cover and see for myself.

Ok well after searching my file I do not know where the list is. I don't know a whole lot about transfer cases, Im just going by what Daniel and Wimberly Off Road saw and told me and that after consulting the previous owner who said "I didn't even know how those things worked."

No worries, I am sure parts can be scrounged and had between here and there. If you do need a case how much do you want to spend? next to free.

Well currently I have around $300 (jobless high school student) I have no dead line and I was planning on doing a rebuild over time, be a good learning experience plus will work better with my varying budget.:)

Matt - please drive the truck to the creek clean up, let a few of us take it for a test drive. Did Dan test drive it?

Matt - It was great to drive your FJ60 today. I love the two tone leather inside!

I think you need to change out all your fluids in the front diff, rear diff, and the T-case. I also think you need to have your drive shaft balanced. See where that gets you. I was expecting to hear a loud whine, like a t-case would make when it's going out. But it felt like more of a vibration and grind like you are low on fluid.

Brain - you also took it for a test drive...what do you think?

Hey mark, I did change the fluids today, I tried it out today and the t-case did the same thing, I may need to give a few days to thoroughly lubricate it though. Im going to check out my motor mounts sometime during the week as well.

did you change the front and rear diffs also?

I think the t-case linkage might need a good adjusting.

What color was the oil in each? Any milky brown or other colors?
