Hi all,

My 80 has the early style interior and dash. I'm looking for a sturdy mounting solution for accessories like a tablet, handheld, gps receiver, mic, etc.

I've been spoiled by a cool mounting plate that Tim from Gamiviti made for my 200, where I have a mounting rail and movable ram ball mounts. It is very sturdy so whatever you mount to it is also sturdy.

As a result, I have a great selection of ram mounts that I'd like to reuse in the 80, now that it has become my offroad rig.

Are there any vendor or home built solutions that you can recommend?

Note, I have a Solvefunction single ram mount that is great, but I'm looking for something more sturdy (can hold a ipad steady) and can mount a few items at one time.

I am curious about any new options being produced for the early style dashes as well. What if anything did you find?

Anyone else have solutions.

I have seen the that Delta started producing a number of what was once WitsEnd products. I don’t recall in looking through the new offerings that there were very many options for the early 80 dashes. @Delta VS do you have anything new in the works?

been making these for a bit now: Delta Vehicle Systems - 91-94 Clock Replacement Accessory Mount - https://www.deltavs.com/all-products/91-94-clock-replacement-accessory-mount or the shifter console

I got a Ram mount panel from SolveFunction that goes over the curved switch blank area. I also have a NLA Wits' End grab handle Ram mount adapter.

Looks like Delta has a clock option that I haven't seen before. I am probably one of the rare people that still have a working clock. :)

I haven't found other options.

Our early dash shape doesn't have many flat areas to add something like a rail for multiple ram mounts.

I saw the the clock mount and might end up buying one. I have seen the console too. I was hoping for other options maybe in the works.

I looked at the solve function mount as well. I agree the early style dash design is not as adaptable as the later version. Thanks for the suggestions.

This one

I mounted mine to an OEM grab bar with a clamp setup and Ram mounts...works great! I use the @Delta VS clock replacement mount for the phone and the Ram mount for my 7" android tablet for my ZF OBD1 reader @ bonus OnX, etc. with a split screen view. I did end up adding a Ram mount for the phone to the dash Delta mount...the Apple mag wasn't strong enough to hold on the trails. For the clamp, I found one on Amazon that was significantly smaller than the Ram version that still has a great grip and converts to the Ram ball.

Quick side note on the mag mount, it is 100% designed to be used with a MagBak case and the extra magnet those incorporate, have many hard miles with that setup and no issues. Apple MagSafe on its own is only good for a big body Benz with air ride or something.

Looks like a command center in there!
