Cool, we have some good friends that live up that way. Give me a shout sometime would love to take a close look at your rig.

Landtank. Sounds like you will be coming thru before 5PM. I get out at 5 and would need to get home so sounds like it may not work out. Call my cell to connect. 207--749-3296

FWIW, If Landtank can't work some voodoo, you could talk to Matt Browne at Overland Engineering In Elliot, ME. More of a Landy guy, but does work on FJs and Unimogs too. He is a one man shop, so he can take a while, but his work is very good.

Ok cool. Looks like everyone is getting busy with their own rigs at this point.

Picked up a new fuel pump and need to install that. Busy this weekend so hope to get it done Next. In the meantime I have completed for reassembly of the rig so it is getting close. Drive shafts, exhaust and rims and tires are the last items to go. Met up with a Yankee Toy member today in NH that has a great bone yard so if anything more comes up I am hoping I can get it from him. Will post when it is finally running.

16 X 8 Rims. Hoping to run 285-75 R 16 Micky Thompson Mud Tires. I will most likely need some miscellaneous parts but won't know until I really get it running. My voltage regulator looks suspect as well. Other than that I am just hoping to get it running and then go to phase II. Front Discs, Maybe Power steering and maybe a shackle reversal. Time will tell. Just go the new windshield in and remounted the wipers etc..... Looks really good. Once it is all together, minus the trim, it goes back to the body shop for finish paint. I will post more pictures next weekend.

Rick, I am interested. I just need to be sure the Back Spacing is good for my 40. Are they 16 X 8's? Can you send some pics? Let me know. Thanks. My e-mail is jimbutler05@gmail.com if you want to send the photos there. What are you asking?

Folks, I posted that she is running back on May 25th. Sorry that I did not add any additional updates since then. I have been busy working on it almost every night. This weekend wheels and rims go on. I will put on temporary tires until I purchase my new Mickey Thompson MT tires later this summer or early fall. The New fuel tank, seats and repaired heater core all go back in as well this weekend and if I am lucky my new drive shafts will be done and I can put those on as well. The following weekend the clutch and brake master cylinders will go on and she should be a running driving rig a that point. Keeping my fingers crossed that no more little gremlins crop up to derail me, but you know how these things go.

My biggest worry at this point is getting the electrical all finished and working which is my next task, Time will tell. So if all goes well, she will be basically completed 2 years after I began stripping her down on June 28th 2012! Again, once she is running I hope to hook up with some Yankee Toy folks and get off road. There will still be plenty to do as I have to install my 8274 Warn winch in my custom front bumper, but that should not be too bad as I have already dry fit it. Paint will be the last piece and the final paint is scheduled for August. Thanks for the encouragement. It helps.

Err...is your camera broken?

Sorry, Been kind of busy. I did have an album prior to the sites upgrade but can't seem to find it anymore. Anyway, here are some shots. I finished the installation of the fuel tank, seats and racing harnesses, new rims and temporary tires and a bunch of other small stuff this weekend. Next weekend I will install the new brake master and bleed the brakes, the clutch master cylinder and will adjust that and the rebuilt drive shafts and I should have a running driving rig. After that it will go back to the body shop for final paint and then I will finish all the finish trim and lights and install my Warn 8274 winch. With some luck I should have it on the road this summer. Then on to Phase II.

Thanks. It is coming along. I have been really busy with lots of things besides the 40 but at this point the front apron and bib are on along with the hood. I am into the electrical trying to get that done but it is giving me lots of issues. I will try to post some pictures in the next few days. Summer is very busy as I am sure you can understand. The exhaust will go on at the end of the week and if I can get the electrical figured out I hope to have it on the road by the end of July. After that I have to set a date for the finish paint, which at the moment I am not looking forward to as I just want to drive and enjoy it. Cheers

Wally told me he really thinks it is based on what I described. I am pretty much screwed at this point and not sure what to do now. I need someone that has a clue and I can't find anyone reliable. The person I had helping me obviously did not know what they were doing. If you have any suggestions please let me know. I am pretty upset, pissed, frustrated, angry ......... at this point.
