no. many people don't agree with others on this subject and a variety of other subjects. that's perfectly okay...I think it's a good thing, in fact.


calling you out as a troll? well, I'm just being honest. I suspect that you're here for reasons other than the vast majority of us. You see, virtually all of us are here, first and foremost, because we own Toyota 4-wheel drive vehicles and appreciate associating with others who share our same passion for said vehicles.

now, while there may be a few here who don't yet own a Land Cruiser or a 4-Runner or a mini-truck or a FJ Cruiser...I don't think you fall into that minority.


no, I suspect that you are here to yabber on about pit bulls...and how wonderful they are...and how they're so misunderstood...et cetera, et cetera, et cetera...

fortunately, for most of us, the love of pit bulls is not the focus of this particular forum. if you'd like me to direct you to what seems to be a fairly decent pit bull forum, let me know -- I think another member of this forum runs one of those.

I know 6 people that have successfully adopted a good shelter mutt. All are happy and would do it again. My sample size is 6, so take it for what it's worth but there were no horror stories...no returns to the shelter.

You can make it seven if you want to count me, though there is a semi-horror story with Gracie, my German Shepherd that I got from the pound nearly two years ago. She's a little nuts -- "separation anxiety" is the term the shelter people used.

Gracie tears stuff up when she's left alone. It's why she went to the pound -- after doing about $3,000 damage to her previous owners' backyard landscaping, she got the boot. Rather than kicking her out, we manage the situation by having a big dog run for when we're not home, and we have Happy, a Lab/mutt to help with home protection duties. (He's a stray rescue too, though not through a shelter. I picked him up and brought him home.) Aside from being needy she is a great dog, since with that neediness comes all the good stuff that a German Shepherd brings. I'd get another in a heartbeat.
