New to 120 forum so bear with me. I currently have 2 FJ40s ( a 76 and a 78) and 2 1997 FZJ80s. One of the 1997 models is a 40th Anniv. and is my wifes daily driver. It's bone stock, about to turn 200k on the odometer, is in great condition, and has been well maintained. It's time to do some routine maintenance and I'm thinking about fixing it up and setting it back in the garage for a while.

In the meantime, I have to get my wife something else to drive. Gave up on looking for a low mileage LX470 so I've now turned to a similar condition GX470.

I've found a one-owner, low-mileage 08 model that is in really nice condition for 20K.

I've read a lot on here already but thought I'd ask for any advice or opinions on what to look for or be concerned about before pulling the trigger.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

Chances are pretty high that you will not be disappointed. It's smaller than the Land Cruisers that you are used to but in return you get an excellent daily driver with great power, better gas mileage than any LC, and is a solid/dependable platform.

Make sure you get a full set of keys, or at least the master key so you can easily get more keys. Lexus does not make this process "easy". If the dash is cracked there is a recall for that. Check the transfer case for leaks, timing belt history, driveshaft for clunking, torn cv boots, etc. There really is not a whole lot to go wrong on a low mileage, newer rig. I have 200k and 240k on both of mine and they are still going strong.
