I used to ride a lot in college (20yrs ago), getting back to riding with kids as they get larger bikes. I need some advice. I found what I believe is a fair deal on a Rize 4 from 2009. Seems in good shape, I have tested it and it rides/shifts great. All the difference in the world from bike I had in 1990. Sprockets have some wear, but everything else seems to be very good. Has service records. Asking price is $700/obo.

What do you think?

who has ridden it (weight) and what have they done with it? is it the original drive train or a replacement? how much do you weigh?

aluminum frames have a finite service life and this goes double for a full suspension frame. it goes up further from there if the last rider was heavy and/or used it on serious trails. in general i would say you are way better off spending $1500 to buy a bike with less miles. if you are really keen on this one, take it to a bike shop and have them look at it.
