Thank you, @BurnsCrew, and all who contributed to this thread. It looks like I need to start collecting parts. I would like to do this with my existing Dobonsons IMS.

I already have a set of Timbren rear bump stops.
I've been running without swaybars for a couple of years.
I would like to keep running the DeltaVS PCK. To me, the PCK provides more benefit than sway bars.
I was getting this kind of rear lift with Dobinsons C59-171 – 1.5″ lift, linear rate, with 880LBS constant rear weight

The springs and suspension from this LX470 are moving to a much lighter 02 model LC100.

I agree rear flex is way more important than front -- especially in my environment.

That is a lot of rake, Im thinking of running C59-223V, although I do want some good rear flex and clearance without it being raked too much.
 
My buddy did the cutting and welding of the shock mount relocation on mine (no photos) and these are the photos of his truck. He did his first, and I liked the idea so we also did it on mine with the longer shocks.

And here are some close ups. I believe he ran a sway bar for awhile afterwards. He is running the tough dog suspension. Without changing shocks and just doing the chop and relocate and bump stop drop, he gained a lot of down travel. He has a 1998 model, and did not need longer lines but spaced up his brake line.

I'm following your idea, and shortening the lower shock mount.
Knocking this out today.

Have you had any issues with the the butt welds?
I've completed one side just a few moments ago.
But thinking that I'd add in a few fish plates to reinforce the mount welds.

Doesn't take long at all. No more than a couple hours per side.
Took longer to get the welder sorted after someone else in the shop used it.

**EDIT: Ended up adding in some plates to reinforce the welded shock mount.
Might be a bit overkill, but cheap insurance.
