I looked on their fitment page and it does say it fits LJ78. I sent seller a message to verify. Havent got response yet

So Georg at Cruiser Brorhers sent me this after I sent him my frame number.

Is this right? Seems contrary to everything I have heard so far but his business has been strictly toyotas for 33 years

Okay so I may be on to something finally. So the LJ78 axle code is G144. These are 8 inch 4.88 geared, 4 pinion diffs. It looks like the TJM125 or the ARB RD132 will work in these applications. All research I'm finding says they are 30 spline so these should work.

I would avoid lunchbox lockers if it's a daily driver. Or if you drive on snow or in the rain. I've heard some horrifying stories of trucks stepping out on curves with lunchbox lockers. Last resort maybe but I think there are other options you should look at.

So what is everyone's input on this. I've heard a lot of things on different diff sizes and cant seem to find anyone that has actually installed anything other than the factory elocker. It sure as hell seems like these will work though. ARB is offering free shipping and free compressors with purchase of locker right now. Would love to find out for sure before I buy though lol
Have you contacted ARB? When I was looking at their page for fitment it didn't list any model that works with the KZJ78, I didn't look for LJ78 but one that was meant to fit an 8 inch diff didn't list as a fitment for the *j78 series. If you go to their website they have a PDF you can download with fitment. From my research the link I shared was the only one that said it fits our series or trucks.

Im from NZ and terrain tamer currently has a special price on the Harrop E Lockers which ends this week. My truck is a 1992 LJ78 Prado and also has the G144 axle code but I am being told by terrain tamer that my truck has a 4.87:1 ratio diff and that I need the A9574 for the rear and not the A9334 that @Sd1975 has attached above. See the Harrop E Locker guide attached also. Can anyone tell me which one I actually need for my truck?

Your ratio is actually 4.875 if I remember correct. Many just round this to 4.88. It sounds like Terrain Tamer rounds down to 4.87. In any case, just make sure they will accept it as a return if it doesn't fit. Sounds to me like it'll be fine, but I don't have time to read into part numbers right now.
