locked lug nut

I'm familiar with the other solutions but I'm thinking this may be quicker?

Just get a spare lug nut, then JB Weld onto the locked lug nut a normal one ?

I could see you JB welding a socket on the lug nut, if it's a Gorilla lock or similar with something on the circumference for the JB to seep into and provide grip. If it's one of those that the key fits into the face, I doubt it will work. Seems like Harbor Freight has a tool to remove locking lug nuts, but maybe it was Snap-On or similar. Count me as skeptical on the JB method- but of course that's their claim to fame, making believers out of skeptics.

the Front wheels are new, I still think the wheels might be to small (32") but I want to be able to use this as an everyday driver. Be able to take it back from Houston to Austin at least 3-4 times a month and keep up speeds of maybe 55-60 mph would be nice. Still have to fix the steering column, the thing is so terrible when you drive above 20 mph, steering column slips everywhere.

Are you wanting to remove locking lugs with no key?

Here is the most fool proof method. Take a cutoff tool or die grinder, make a notch at 12 o clock, then take a chisel and tap the lug in the direction to loosen, never had this fail, usually only takes a few raps then you can spin it off.

I think what i'm gonna do is take the impact air chisel and see if i can wedge it in that space and hit it. Maybe it'll cause it to split

You could try heating it up and use a set of vise grips to try and twist it off. Good luck, we deal with this s*** all the time at the shop and it sucks. Most of the time it is a anti theft lugnut with the key no where to be found. We have a removal kit from snap on but you don't want to spend that much for your one lugnut. Good luck!

They are both off. I hammered on a 24mm socket onto the lug nuts. Had a good grip and unscrewed them.

Then used the airchisel and put the socket between two bricks and slammed the lugnut off the socket.

I have used the Snap On version of those and they work. I've also welded a nut to the top of the lug nut and used a regular socket.

The nice thing about the HF stuff is you can take it back if you're not satisfied.
