Could somebody with a stock 2004+ LC or LX with NAV post a picture showing the backup camera for your vehicle?

Wifey is still waiting for my final install. I ran the cables to the tailgate a long time ago. But I don't want to take up the tailgate key cyclindar spot. I thought maybe I would drill in a spot that matches the later model years that have the factory Nav w/ Backup camera.

TIA...

I no longer have a picture. It's mounted in between the license plate lights under the upper tailgate.

you would need to go with factory camera if u wanted to mount in the OEM spot. as mentioned above, its between the licence plate lights on the liftgate/hach part pointed down at about a 45* angle

Thanks folks.

Here's a pix from an 06 LX with Nav.

Thanks. I guess I've bought into drilling the tailgate and pointing straight back. Already ran cable and bought the barrel camera.

yes i have the barrel camera pointing straight back. While it kind of sucks for seeing how close your bumper is...its better for seeing what is behind your truck. Here it is to the left of the plate. the wire is run down with the wires for the brake lights and reverse lights into the cabin and down along the lower left side beneath the carpet.

Thanks.

I will probably drill at the same spot as you did. I like having the lense as far up under the liftgate as possible to protect from rain and road spray.

The camera I bought has some adjusting rings that can put a slight tilt on the camera barrel. So I can sort of point it generally downward, but not more than a few degrees. I still want it to look flush against the sheet metal.

Now I just have to suck it up and go for it. I HATE the thought of drilling into perfectly nice factory paint!

Can you provide the specs on the camera you bought - where, brand, size, price?

Will it perchance fit as a replacement for the OEPOS?
