Not cruiser related, but I need to replace the cab bushings on my '68 F250. The last time I borrowed some 2" solid round stock from a friend and made my own.

Would Ford bushing from a newer rig work for you? Or what sizes do you have in mind?

Dunno, but they are easy to make, and I'm thinking a lot cheeper too.

Something like 2" round, 1 3/4 high with a 7 /16 hole drilled in the center.

Reason I ask, is i think I know where some OE ones are laying around you might be ablt to have...

What are they off of? I'll try to get exact measurements this weekend. If they'll work I'd a least have to pay you with some 's;)

Do they sell to any common "Joe" off the street?

Yes.

I have some hunks of acetal and nylon, get the measurements, might have a piece the right size to whip it up on the lathe?

Thanks, I'll post some #'s on monday, that's if I don't have to crawl around in the mud.

Here's what I'm looking for: 12" of solid 2 1/2" round stock. The actual bushings are 2 1/2 x 1 1/2 with a 3/8 hole in the center.

Last time I cut 1 1/2 pcs. with the band saw, then drilled the holes, pretty simple.

Port plastics still my best bet?

You might also try Laird Plastics ask for Kimberly or Ge Polymershapes and I believe it's either Doug or Dan over there. I usually go through Laird for my plastic needs, tell Kimberly I sent you, she might hook you up.

I don't have a piece that size. Port is one option, don't know if they will still cut, or if you have to buy a stick. If your having it shipped, shop the web probably get the best price?

What's the hardness? Poly is pricey in stock form. I had another member here buy some and make us a couple sets of motor mounts to replace the worn out crap AA ones that are in my 40. The stuff was like $100 for a 12" stick of 2.5"

This is the stuff we got from Mcmaster-Carr

I wouldn't use anything softer than 80A for body mounts. It's what we used for the motor mounts and is pretty much perfect.

Wow, thanks BMAN, where's the closest Mcmaster-Carr? Sounds like the ticket.

Just a few mouse clicks away. Their shipping is FAST and if you have to deal with them over the phone their Customer service is awesome too.

Their entire online catalog is at www.mcmaster.com

I can't hot link right to the page with the ploy info but it's in the section at the very bottom right called raw materials. Click on Polyurethane and go from there. Just keep clicking on the parameters of what you need and it narrows down the products available.

Good luck.

Heres a piece of 36" long tube with a 2" od and 1/2" id for $97.68
