I've been leasing for the last forever years, and before that I had Georg do everything to my FJ62.

Now I've got an '01 LX470, and need to go thru all the various rubber things that wear out under the truck, along with a few other small repairs I can't do w/o a garage. Not willing to DIY on suspension stuff, just don't have the time to take on anything at the moment.

Anyone have a trusted mechanic, preferably in the east bay?

Take it back to Georg. No question there.. However, I have seen a couple guys recommend another shop that is in the bay.

Agree on Georg-he has his own 100, so he knows them inside and out. You could also try Mudrak is Sonoma, another good option as a 100 specialist. I'm sure you can find a good indy shop closer to you for smaller/easier items.

I need a very local (east bay), little stuff shop, these are all nickel and dime repairs - for the big stuff, I'll absolutely head to Georg again.

Had a bad experience with Mudrak, won't be back to him.

I've been going to Huey at XYZ Motors in Oakland for over 12 years for small stuff for all of our Toyotas.

I had my timing belt/water pump/heater T's done at Toy Auto Clinic in Redwood City and was very happy with the service. Car is running great since and very professional service with a clean shop. Saw a few other cruisers there too.

These guys are right down the street for me, they gave me a decent quote on a steering rack replacement. They have a solid reputation and following locally...
