I have a newb question.

The wife was driving then suddenly she lost power to the wheels and the truck wouldn't move forward. The engine was running and was responding to the throttle fine but there was no drive. A friend was driving behind her and she said there was a huge spray of fluid trailing behind her. We had it towed home. I started it up recently and the engine runs fine. I lifted the hood and there was ATF coating all the belts and the pulleys and there was so much of it, it was praying up onto the hood. So it seems I should be trying to track town a ATF leak, perhaps clean all tubes associated with the transmission then start it up and look for said leak. Does anyone have any suggestions where that leak may be if its spraying up in the fan shroud? What at the tubing components of the automatic transmission?

I have the FSM. The only tubing I see going from the transmission to the fan is oil cooler tube. I'm really struggling here. Any help is much appreciated!

The transmission cooler lines going to and from the radiator would be first on my list. Perhaps even the rad itself sprung a leak.

What he said ^^ Most likely one of the atf hoses came off the trans cooler in the bottom of the radiator.

Yep, ATF cooler hose was ripped through by the lower pulley. Not sure how the hose bounced up and got shredded but there was a big gaping hole in it. I replaced the hose and filled it back up with ATF fluid and it runs once again! Now contemplating installing an intercooler setup. I have the turbo inlet flange fabricated. I just need some pipe to weld onto it.... was that 2.5" diameter? I'll have to double check :)

There is a little shield under the rad that has a couple holders to make sure the ATF lines don't bounce up. Make sure they are in those holders.

Intercooler goes between turbo and throttle body. 2" pipe I believe.
