Hey y’all. After lurking the few threads on here about doing the 2LTE EGR delete I finally did my own yesterday. Everything went well and it’s been running good so far, but I’m a little confused about a couple things.

I removed all the piping and blocked off the exhaust and intake with some .25” aluminum and the stock steel gaskets that were on there. Even made a couple 1” aluminum spacers to use the stock studs on the intake.

The part I’m unclear on is the vacuum lines and the 2 VSVs. Some people said to ditch it all and some say to leave 1 VSV on? I removed both VSVs and all the vacuum lines.

It’s been running good so far. Hard to say if there is any difference though. Still need to clean the gunk out of the intake. Thats tomorrow nights project.

Sorry if this has been covered in another post, but the other posts have gotten me to this point and I’m still confused. Lol.

Any help is appreciated!

Pics of the rig for attention.

No I left them in. Was going to pull them out when I clean out the throttle body. Hopefully this week sometime.

You may have already seen this post, but here's where I removed the EGR system on my first LJ78: Builds - 1990 LJ78 in Montana - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/1990-lj78-in-montana.914546/post-10264272
I did remove both VSV's on the intake, along with all associated vacuum lines. You won't notice a big difference until you remove the throttle plates, the seat-of-the-pants driving feel was much improved after I removed mine.

Nice looking Prado by the way, you have the twin of mine!
Ah yes I’ve read your thread through a few times!

Ok good, always happy to remove as many non essential parts as I can. Excited to remove the throttle plates next.

Oh nice! Don’t see too many of the browns around. Looks like you’ve got some nice factory options too. Can’t beat how well that winch fits in.
