If I understand right, you put 6v across the spill valve solenoid? Usually that wrecks them, as they are just meant to be pulsed. People get confused, because the fuel cut solenoid of the mechanical injection pumps is in the same spot, and it does need constant voltage.

yes i tried it on a 6v battery but the test took about 15 seconds. I saw it on video:

Those Madina diesel lab videos blow me away. Not a torque wrench in the whole place! But they keep 'em running, somehow.

Hi guys.
Problem again after a year. Prado starts with difficulty. Sometimes you have to add a little gas to get it to start. Sometimes the engine dies when in D or R. At steady speed at low revs, the revs sometimes drop to zero and jump back up after a second. The check engine light also flashes. At higher speeds, the car drives normally. Any idea what it could be? Fuel regulator at the pump? Crankshaft sensor?
