First - I suck at troubleshooting electrical. Bad a reading diagrams. Unsure of how multimeters work, etc.

My right taillight and side marker are not working. Tail light doesn't work for both modes (headlights on and when braking).
It's not the bulbs. All other lights are working fine. Anyone have a suggestion of where I should look to solve the problem? Any chance this one corner has its own fuze? If wiring, where should I look for the problem?

Thanks

Likely corroded connectors in the right rear quarter panel. Plastic pops off.
And there's no "z" in fuse.

To be sure I'm clear, are you suggesting the corrosion on the side marker connector would cause both the side marker and the taillight to fail?
Are the side marker and taillight in a circuit and corrosion on the side marker connector would break the circuit and cause the failure in both?

The side marker lamp and tail lights have a common connector behind the plastic panel.
One of the great things about an 80 Series is that almost everything is easily accessible. The plastic panels just pop right off. You might want to pick up some replacement plastic clips from Amazon.

Thanks. I finally got around to digging into this and it was indeed corrosion on the wiring connectors inside the rear quarter panel.

Sadly, it looks at though I have a rust hole that has been created in the corner of the wheel arch and quarter panel. Water and such has been getting inside the rear quarter for a while. The hole was hiding behind all the plastic cladding on the LX450. So while I have the lights sorted, I have a body patch in my near future. I think I'll strip the plastic and roof rack off to see what other horrors are hiding. It'll be an LX with a poverty package exterior. Kinda like that idea actually. Kind of fits with the manual locking hubs and T-case VC delete I've done.

Check for rust where all seatbelt mounting points attach to the body.
