Lifting a '98 Tahoe----cheaply?

Hey all, I've got a '98 Tahoe that I'd like to lift some. The thing is, I don't know squat about lifting trucks. So is there another way other than the $1300+lift kits that're advertised? For the money, I'd rather just start with another truck that's lifted or move on to another project.

I can do the work, but this is like Austin Powers said, it's just not my bag. I'm not afraid to say I'm ignorant.

Yep. A full size '98.

well the rear is easy& cheap to lift its the front IFS that can get costly. Give me a few..... what size did you want again?
