Liftgate Help - beeping; not working......

Hello...

I lurk here a bit while building up my 2018 LC. Anyways, having a problem with the power liftgate; push the interior button or the fob and it will not work. beeps twice and will not open. i can manually open it but same thing happens when I press the close button on gate itself; beeps twice and nothing.

Any insight would be appreciated - I have searched here and the web and don't get any results. I HAVE tried holding the buttons, both on the lower dash and the gate, for several seconds trying to get it to reset, but that did nothing.

May need to reset your ECU. (Unplug the negative terminal for a few minutes). Keep in mind the ECU will take a few minutes to initialize, so you may have the same behavior if you try right away. I noticed this when I changed my battery last weekend. While initializing the lift-gate will not open until complete.

LX has a button to turn off the power liftgate. If it's off, it will do exactly as you're describing. Check and see if you accidentally pressed the this button...

Odd. This exact same issue started for me about 3 weeks ago or so out of nowhere on my 2020 LC. The power liftgate doesn't work in either direction with the fob or interior button. Same 2 beeps you described in OP. The soft close on the lower tailgate still does it's thing, however.

I assumed I inadvertently changed a setting in the lock/unlock menu or something like that.

Installing switch pros and compressor this weekend, so battery will get disconnected; I'll try that and see.

and the button to turn liftgate "off" (or is it on?) is not switched.

Pushed in = no power door. If you can see the red trim around the button, you have power.

I am having the same exact issue. Online searching shows a switch in the glovebox for Highlanders but my 18 Land Cruiser does not have such a switch.

Where is the switch you are talking about located?

On 2015 LX, it is to the right of the steering wheel.

Feel like there should be a liftgate sticky. This comes up at least once a month.
