Lift Gate Rust (what can be done?)

U can get a new gate from Sewell, at least it's on their parts list. I seem to remember calling them when I got my 2000, guy said they had few of each in the warehouse.

Yeah it wasn't an issue from the salt or anything. Leaking seal around the window.

Well despite some advice to get a whole new gate, I went this route. Looks good so far.

Ground the rust out, treated with POR 15, welded new metal in, and color matched.

No clear coat yet.

Any suggestions on best place to source the 03+ badge? The "Land" didn't make it through the process.

I was thinking about just debadging the whole thing but I think I want to cover up the patched spot.

One last question. Going to get the name plate from a site but I need help identifying one last piece from their diagram.

What I need to replace is the handle/latch for the upper gate. That plastic piece rusted off and all that is left is a rusted nub. All functions ok, just not sure my tetanus is up to date and don't want to chance it on that.

Any help with the diagram would be appreciated. Thanks!

The handle looks like PN 69090-60020

Regarding the '03+ badge, they come body colored and most colors from '98 aren't available in '03.

75441-60500-E0 is for Sonora Gold Pearl which might be the closest to your color…. or maybe it would look better with Classic silver metallic?
